Another week in pictures!

Another week in the books. We have now officially lived here two months—the longest I have ever lived in a different country. We are learning a lot and do really love it here. We’ve been getting used to working more (want to learn more about what we’re doing? Shoot me an email!), and adapting to the country.

We have been spending some more time in a part of the city where there are not very many foreigners. Hez has become quite the celebrity! Older women selling street food tend to be his biggest fan, followed by high school girls. While we were eating some lunch, two girls came over and asked for a picture with him. Afterwards they ran back to their table and literally squealed as they showed their friends the picture.

We also have been enjoying going on walks around our apartment (even though it’s unbelievably hot right now). I am sweating by the time we get out of the elevator, but we do get to see some cool views, especially when the sun sets. Hez seems to like it too, he loves to take naps in his stroller. The sidewalks aren’t too great here, so its kind of like an earthquake every time  we go over the bumpy parts, but thank goodness we brought over our massive jogging stroller—those tires can withstand anything.

We celebrated Easter with some friends. Our day was full of worship, card games, movies and eating good food all day. Such a fun way to celebrate the fact that the fight has already been won & that we no longer have to fight for victory, we fight from victory because Jesus rose from the grave and defeated death once and for all. Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.

Hez was obviously very thrilled.
A little bit of cards, including Hez’s diaper changing mat (it adds to the aesthetic).
Hez likes to pee a lot—especially on his dad. (Yes, he had a diaper on, it just got so full it dripped out, ha!)

We also got our very first package! We weren’t really sure how well the postal system worked here, but my parents wanted to try it out for themselves. We got our package in about three weeks, and it was like Christmas! We got some cute outfits for Hez, an Easter book and some jelly beans which melted into a big old block of sugar (which I still ate the whole bag in less than three days).

Thanks for reading! Maybe someday I’ll write an actual blog again, instead of just posting pictures. For now, enjoy one last picture of our cute little squishy guy.
