Again, it has been a busy week. I can’t believe we have lived in SE Asia for two months! I have officially lived here longer than any other country besides the US. Here’s my weekly photo dump:
We signed up for a Gymboree class as a birthday present from my parents! It is a blast! Hez’s class is for babies 0-6 months, so imagine seven little babies just laying on blankets while the instructor tries to do activities with them. They all just stare around or cry. There is a lot of crying. Last week Hez got into an intense staring match with the baby next to him. It was great. Hez woke up from a nap and was pretty sad. And then he got more sad. And then he calmed down, and I discovered his newest doppelgänger. I kept laughing when I looked at this picture (one, because Hez is the cutest sad baby I’ve ever seen) and two, because it kept reminding me of something I had seen before! After some vigorous google searing I finally discovered what it reminded me of…Can’t you see the resemblance?! Also how weird is that I specifically remembered this character from Candyland? His name is Gloppy in case you were wondering.
Shortly after, Hez was a happy boy again and took this glamour shot of a selfie. I think he looks like he is plotting something against me in this picture. Also, look at his cute little nubby hands. I’m obsessed. Found this cutie little food stand too! Looks like they sell snake skin and straight up strings of fat?! Yum.
This week ended with a day dedicated to spending some time with some friends as we enjoyed some bonding activities together before the summer gets a little busier. It started out with a trip to a big market (anyone watch This is Us?!) where we bought some ingredients.
Ugly little fish guys.

We then put our masterchef skills to the test and created a four course lunch.
Cutie little fried spring rolls! Here’s the “before” picture of our salad.Check out that pepper flower at the top.
I didn’t get any pictures of the dessert, probably because I ate it too fast. Anyways, the cooking class was a lot of fun and probably gave me too much confidence in my cooking abilities. I plan on applying for the food network shortly.
A picture that pretty accurately describes my life right now—feeding myself (with chopsticks!) & feeding Hez. Usually at the same time. Hez got a little fussy, and one of the guys working was the absolute sweetest and offered to hold him so I could finish cooking.
We ended the day with a huge storm. It was beautiful and made me pretty excited for the upcoming rainy season. Plus, check out how beautiful this city is!
Life is busy, and life is fun. I can’t believe we almost have a four month old! He is so close to rolling over and loves to smile. The other day it hit me that two years ago I was graduating from nursing school and I was about to visit this country for the first time. Two years ago Nathan and I weren’t even dating! Life is so fun. I love getting to do life with my two best friends by my side. I am constantly learning how to choose joy, embrace the adventures and be present.
