I am refusing to acknowledge the fact that the first half of summer is half over. I refuse. I won’t let it happen. However, this first half of summer has been full of so many wonderful and fun things. One of which being me getting a new phone! My (un)trusty old iPhone finally called it quits. I had an iPhone 8, so I went to the store and asked for an iPhone 9 to which the phone man responded that they don’t make those, so I asked for a 10, and he responded with, “They’re called iPhone X” to which I left and went to Wal-mart to get a flip phone. So far, it has been a great purchase. It was $24.99 and I love that the only time it makes noise is when I’m getting a text or a phone call. It also does have Google Maps and Youtube, surprisingly. I think my favorite part about it has been that the switch has encouraged me to take more photos with our camera. Here are some snapshots of our first half of summer:
First up, my garden! I joined a community garden which is wonderful (and free). I have tried gardening in the past and maybe watered my plants twice the whole summer. I decided to maybe try something small, where I didn’t have to invest a whole lot of money this summer. It is fun to try it, and see what happens. So far I’ve harvested a few snap peas, and I can see some peppers, cucumbers & tomatoes beginning to grow. This is not my garden, but I thought it was neat. We have spent a lot of time playing with the water table. Hez likes to splash, and Naomi drinks the water for a little bit and then crawls around. We are still working on growing some hair. Babies in athletic clothes are my favorite.Hez working on 14 coloring sheets at once. One morning we decided to get out of the house and go to the playground. Only problem is that that week it was absolutely scorching out so in order for the playground equipment to not burn our flesh, we left the house at 7:00. We stopped at a coffee shop and got some coffee and a scone and it was great!Content girl with her cherished puffs. We call this next series of photos: proof that Hez is the squishiest little boy who should never ever grow up. Nathan took a few days of vacation, and we spent a lot of time playing games. It was so fun to have him home during the day and take advantage of nap times!Hez helped me make some berry crisp. On the floor, next to our sensory bin and laundry hamper, of course. Helping Grandpa make Mickey Mouse pancakes! My sweet round girl.Hez running fast. Doesn’t he just look so fast in this photo?!We left the Sturgis Falls talent show early, and decided to have our own. Here is my nephew playing the drum. What you can’t quite tell in the photo is the immense strength that he was beating that drum with. I am genuinely surprised the drum was not broken in the process.Hez didn’t love the idea of a talent show….…but he warmed up to it.Cute cousins, loud music. Naomi AND Hez got to experience their first parade. Naomi gives it a 1/10 due to the scary motorcycles and Hez gives it a 10/10 for the trash truck that was at the end.Naomi discovered dirt. And last but not least… a montage of Hez eating his beloved fruit snacks.
Well, that’s it for the first half of summer photos. Here’s to more sunny days and late nights and lots iced coffee.
