Books of 2021

Did you really even read if you didn’t post a blog about it?

I had a goal this year of reading 24 books, the previous year was 12.

I actually just counted them up, and I read (drum roll please….) 23. Wah wah. (& technically three of those were in 2020, but I didn’t count them towards my 2020 books so I’m including them in 2021). Although, I just remembered that I read like 6 books about potty training this year. They were just so boring (and unhelpful) that I didn’t include them in my note. So there ya go, I hit my goal!

My favorite reading nook this winter season. Not pictured: a large mug of lemon loaf tea.

This year I noticed a few things about my reading habits. It is not uncommon for me to go MONTHS without finishing a book. There was a solid period from June to October where I did not finish one single book. I think I just get out of the grove of reading and it’s hard to pick up a book. I also realized that I read a lot more non-fiction books if I read one chapter of a non-fiction book before reading a fiction book. And lastly, I am so sick of novels that are all about glamorizing infidelity. I can count like four books on my list that had something to do with the main character finding a different person and falling in love with them. It’s annoying and I’m tired of reading books about it. SO, if you have a good novel that isn’t about mushy gushy romance, or cheating on a spouse, let me know!

And with all of that said, here are my books of 2021!
