It is one of my favorite days of the year, a day to celebrate our sweet Naomi McLean! The last few days I have found myself scouring my phone to look at pictures from the last two years. Even now, I am sitting at my favorite coffee shop, listening to the album I listened to when she was born (with Hez too, I guess it’s a good baby-birthing album).
The last two years have been full of laughs, squishes, moving to a new house, starting back and work and so many dang good memories (plus some hard moments too, but those aren’t as fun to read about, right?).
Naomi came out MAD. I just remember that I couldn’t really hear what anybody was saying to me because Naomi was crying that hard. The first few nights all she wanted to do was eat, and yet, I remember falling in love with her. I loved her little chubby neck roll, I loved how much she enjoyed snuggling, and I loved her sass from day one.

In her blog from when she turned one, I wrote that the word I would use to describe her best is “wild”, and that legacy continues. She is my wild, wild girl. She has one of the best cackle-laughs I have ever heard, and she finds joy in just about everything. She is stubborn as can be, and can give a mean stink-eye, but she also loves to be cuddled, loves to give cheek kisses and loves her friends!
She started dance lessons this year, and while she’s not the best at paying attention or following directions, she NAILS the running around in a circle, the jumps and the slow squats (also licking her reflection on the mirror).
Naomi’s name means pleasant, and I sure do think she is quite pleasant. It also means gentle, and we will work on that;) I pray she grows up to know her worth, that she is loved beyond measure and is fearfully and wonderfully made. I pray she grows up to be a friend to all, and that she keeps her spunk. I pray she is brave, fierce and loving and that she is confident in the God who made her, sustains her and has good, good plans for her life.
Here are some of Naomi’s favorite things:
Foods: Ice cream, fruit, eggs and fruitsnacks
Movies: Encanto, Turning Red (She really just likes the big kitty), Bug’s Life
Hobbies (can two year olds have hobbies?): Jumping on her brother’s bed, pretending to cook food, going down slides, swimming and reading books.
Other things she loves: Pretty flowers, pretty dresses & pretty bows. She is definitely a girly-girl with a little bit of ruggedness thrown in.

We love our sweet, wild Naomi. She is a gift and we will forever praise God for her life.
