Well, I’m sure by now you’ve already heard our biggest November news—our sweet Reya girl was born on November 3! We love her a lot and she is squishy and cute.
Here are some other fun updates on how we have filled our first month as a family of five!
We had the blessing of hosting both sides of our family, and it was wonderful. Nathan’s side of the family came down right after Reya was born, and my side of the family came here to celebrate thanksgiving! Reya got lots of snuggles, while Hez and Naomi got lots of presents and playtime. We had a wonderful homemade thanksgiving meal (just kidding, HyVee catered it), and Naomi ate so much whipped cream she puked it all up. We visited the magic tree, the arcade and my favorite coffee shop (three times in one week, whoops) and we officially began decorating for Christmas!
Here are some of my favorite moments from this month (starting with Reya because she’s cutest):

Next up, hez and Naomi had their preschool Thanksgiving program! If you know Hez, you know he is a pretty shy guy, but he stood up there the whole time!! He may not have sung a single word, or smiled at all, but I was so proud of him for standing up there with his class! Naomi did great, she loved to clap after each song and loved seeing her friend, Evie.

The Friday after thanksgiving we went to the Magic Tree lighting. We got to be there for the countdown (Hezzy was looking the complete opposite direction, so I had to manually turn his head so he didn’t miss it) and we had our first hot chocolate of the Christmas season.

And then last night we made an impulse decision to begin decorating for Christmas! We were gifted some fake Christmas trees a while ago and so we have a lot of trees currently in our house. We will obviously get a real tree for our main tree because we’re all #teamrealtree in this household, but we haven’t gotten that yet.

I’ve been trying to document more this newborn phase. She slept in her sling the whole time we were decorating for Christmas and making cookies. I only dropped cookie dough on her head once….
Well, that brings us today where we have spent our morning skipping church (two very tired big kids over here), eating waffles and cuddling while watching a movie (and while I typed this blog).
Thanks for reading of you made it this far, here’s to trying to keep this blog more updated this Christmas season.
