It truly has been quite some time since I have posted a little update on this blog. The last blog I posted was actually last year, which is a bit embarrassing, but hey, here’s to setting new goals and getting back into blogging a little more regularly.
So, here’s what we’ve been up to this past year—
We started off the year celebrating Hezzy’s fifth birthday! We had a transformers party and he loved playing with all of his friends. In the spring Nathan and I got a pretty amazing opportunity to travel to Vietnam for a week. It was incredible and is totally deserving of it’s own whole blog post, which may or may not happen, but I will sure try.

Summer came around and we traveled to California and got to go to Disneyland with my parents and all of the kids’ cousins. It truly was so much fun. We also got to vacation to the Wisconsin Dells. A little less chaotic than Disney, but just as fun. We celebrated Naomi turning four with a Bluey birthday party and a real tea party. This girl loves anything fancy, and she loved being celebrated.

And that all brings us to this fall! Currently, I am 37 and a half weeks pregnant. I am quite large and round and we are at that point in pregnancy where I overanalyze every single feeling thinking it could be labor, when I know full well that this baby is nice and comfy in there.
We are so excited to be adding a baby boy to our family, but are also still desperately searching for the perfect name. If you have any ideas, please, please let me know.
We got to celebrate Reya turning two a few weeks ago, and even though she was sick, she loved the cake. She is such a ray of sunshine in our lives. She is spunky, sassy and sweet. She gives the best snuggles and keeps up with her big brother and sister pretty well. She loves playing tea party, snuggling her stuffed kitty named “meow meow” and coloring on every surface of our home.

I am still working as a nurse on the postpartum floor and love it. Nathan is working part time at our church and managing the house so, so well.
As we near Thanksgiving, there is truly so much to be grateful for. It is crazy to think about how I started this blog six years ago, while we were preparing to move overseas for the foreseeable future. Our plans were changed, and our life looks nothing like we thought it would (although it probably looks pretty normal to most people). I am constantly being reminded about how the peace of Christ is available all of the time, anywhere. Despite plans changing, despite life sometimes feeling very, very chaotic—the peace that only comes from God transcends all other things. And that, my friends, is a big ol’ reason to be thankful this season.

Hopefully by the time I post again we will be a family of SIX. It still feels so surreal to say, even though it seems like this pregnancy has lasted so long. Thanks for reading and staying updated on our family’s little life.
