Hezekiah is ten months old (I had to count back the months to double check). We love this little guy! I’m sure we say it every month, but he is just such a blessing. This month he experienced his first halloween, his first trip to his mama’s favorite coffee shop (that isn’t starbucks —ha!), his first meatball and so much more! My apologies for this post which is more of like a photo dump of poorly edited, poorly captured pictures. I am no photo queen, but I try. Here’s a look into this last month:

First off, HALLOWEEN! For living in a country that doesn’t celebrate Halloween, we managed to find a few activities that made it feel like home. We bought this $2 Mickey Mouse outfit off of the local version of Amazon so that was a nice find. Hez didn’t like the hat and decided to protest by refusing to smile once.
I decorated our apartment with a little spider garland and a spider web made out of a trash bag. You make-do with what you can find, right? Already planning out our Christmas decorations, don’t you worry! We celebrated the actual day of Halloween by painting some pumpkins with friends, watching the Charlie Brown Halloween episode (which Hez loved BTW) and eating Chili. What could be better?!

At the pumpkin painting party, Hez dressed up as Einstein. His costume was inspired by how his hair looks when he wakes up from a nap. Guys, if you have a baby PLEASE draw on eyebrows and mustache. It’s hilarious.

Hez is turning into a really goofy boy. He still remains quite serious when we are with other people, but at home he becomes so silly! He is crawling everywhere and is very fast. You better bet that if we leave our bedroom or the bathroom door cracked open just a little bit, he will be in there before you know it throwing whole rolls of toilet paper into the toilet. Delightful.
He also is walking with support. Half of me wants him to start walking so I can get him those little shoes that squeak with every step (yes those annoying ones). They are very popular over here. The other half of me doesn’t want to chase him around, ha! I’m pretty sure it wont take long before he’s faster than I am. Good thing I have a fast husband.
He LOVES books, and I love this about him. His favorites at the moment are Goodnight Moon and Where’s Spot, and you might be thinking “babies can’t have favorite books, Ana’s just making these up”. No guys, I’m serious. The only books he will consistently let me read to him are these two books. He also cracks up at each page of Where’s Spot. I love it. Sometimes he will crawl into his room and when I check on him, he’s just sitting in there flipping through pages of his books.
He also loves food. Big boy! This month his favorites are meatballs and peanut butter toast. I love that he’s eating more “big boy” food, and that means I don’t have to make baby food anymore. We went out for breakfast the other day and he just snacked on our food! I was a little sad to give up my hashbrown, but he loved it.

Hez has also recruited a friend at church to hand feed him goldfish. Doesn’t everyone need a friend like this?! Taking volunteers (to feed me) now.

We also went to that fun park with Nathan’s language tutor and his girlfriend. I tried to take good pictures, but well, it didn’t work out. We did get to try this dried fruit that I think was made of the peel of a pomelo fruit?! Not really sure, but Hez liked it!

We got our lightbulbs changed! Didn’t realize how much of an ordeal this would be. You should of seen when they changed the ones in the living room…

I made many trips to favorite coffee shop. I don’t know why I like it so much, but maybe it has something to do with the very caffeinated coffee or the donuts. Nathan and Hez joined me one morning and it was so fun to have them at my favorite place.

We also got our air conditioners cleaned!!! Big praise hands for cold air again. Also, it’s seriously such show to watch them do the cleaning. Here’s a picture of the man standing ON THE EDGE OF OUR BALCONY spraying off the air conditioner thing.

What a busy month October has been! I cannot believe Hez is another month older and there are only two months left until he is one!!!! We love this little man and continue to pray for him to grow up to be wise, kind and strong. We love you Hezzy boy, you are such a JOY to parent.

Love you all so much! If Wheres Spot is an “open the door” chunky book. Auti loved that one too! Great pics and adoring the Einstien photos!!!
